Virgil (70 B.C-19 B.C) is regarded as the greatest Roman poet, known for his epic, The Aeneid (written about 29 B.C. unfinished). Virgil was born on October 15, 70 B.C., in a small village near Mantua in Northern Italy. He attended school at Cremona and Milan, and then went to Rome, where he studied mathematics, medicine and rhetoric, and completed his studies in Naples. Between 42 and 37 B.C. Virgil composed pastoral poems known as Ecologues, and spent years on the Georgics.

At the urging of Augustus Caesar, Virgil began to write The Aeneid, a poem of the glory of Rome under Caesars rule. Virgil devoted the remaining time of his life, from 30 to 19 B.C., to the composition of The Aeneid, the national epic of Rome and to glory of the Empire. The poet died in 19 B.C of a fever he contracted on his visit to Greece with the Emperor. It is said that the poet had instructed his executor Varius to destroy The Aeneid, but Augustus ordered Varius to ignore this request, and the poem was published.

Ene
a (gr. Αἰνείας; lat.

Aeneas (a man at war) ~ Mythical hero of Troy, and  later of Lazio, through who's deed occupy a notable part of th e Iliad and constitute the subject of the Aeneid.  Born on top of mount ida of Aphrodite and Anchise, he was made one of the most strong defenders of Troy. Held dear for h is piety. Zeus,  Aphrodite and Poseidon saved him from the hands of his enemies.

GIUNONE
(Iuno).

Juno (baleful Juno) ~ Latin divinity in antiquity, in the passing of time,  one of the most important gods officially and privately of Romans. Identifying, allowed in the the past, of Juno with the greek Dion, seems all but rejected now, as like etomology of of recollecting the name with that which of Jupiter. in contray the form Iovino: the name of the goddess is rather derived from rad. iun (di iuvenis), it signifys "young, thriving" or "young woman" of marriageable age.

Lavinia (lat.
Lavinium),

Lavinia ~ Mythical daughter of Latino, and wife of Aeneas after the victory of Turno. The legend is beheld especially in the Aeneid by Virgil.

According to leddgend, Aeneas gave the name Lavinia tot he city he founded. (latin. Lavinuim)

Alba Longa (of the Alban lords) ~ ancient city Lazio of the Alban Hills, founded, according to legend, by the son of Aeneas, Ascanio. After he reigned of King Alba, eleven kings will rise  untill the founding of Rome. Rome itself was founded by settlers from Alba and Romulus would descend from the royal line of Alba.
